Payapps customers and crew go into full ‘petrol-head’ mode, for a high-octane experience at Mercedes-Benz World
Every Summer, we gather members of the Payapps team, industry guests and a group of customers for an experience day combining knowledge sharing, team building and, between ourselves, a fair bit of fun. This year, we headed to Mercedes Benz World, but the running order was flipped – the thrills came first, the serious lessons were digested in the afternoon.

The group split into two, with some heading out onto the track while others took to the F1 simulators. Behind the virtual wheel, delegates went wheel-to-wheel around a mock-up of the Belgian Grand Prix, pitting their skills against virtual Verstappens, Hamiltons and a grid of drivers far quicker than the rest of us.
Meanwhile, out on the track, with a Mercedes-Benz instructor riding shotgun, delegates got behind the wheel and put the cars through their paces. Then it was time to swap over, giving everyone a chance to experience both sides of the action.
With adrenaline all spent, we then headed indoors. That’s where the real talking points came out.
The Payapps team gave attendees a sneak peek at some of the updates and features landing on the platform in Q3 and Q4 2026. There was also a first look at some proprietary construction research on subcontractor insights that we’ve been working on. It lifts the lid on the biggest pain points around applications for payment, given to us straight from the people who feel them. We’ll have more on that when we launch our findings in the Autumn.
We also heard from Allan Willen, Economics Director at Glenigan, who shared the Glenigan Summer 2026 Construction Forecast and the macroeconomic issues facing the industry, and the day wrapped up with an open Q&A session. This was a chance to ask our team anything about the platform and how it works day-to-day.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, we’re looking forward to next year’s already!
